In Conversation….

I loved words. I love to sing them and speak them and even now, I must admit, I have fallen into the joy of writing them.

Anne Rice

Not many updates of late as I haven’t done any plot development or characterisation.

I have however been contemplating the differences between myself and my fellow humans after an interesting political workplace discussion. Listening to opinions that wildly differ from your own can be uncomfortable and sometimes rage-inflicting, but as far as character development goes it can only help ‘fill out’ characters I would have otherwise been unable to imagine.

Some of the best writers are highly philosophical and able to put themselves in hypothetical situations and see a problem from all angles. For those of us unable to do this, conversation can offer an insight into how other people think in general and more specific situations, allowing us to develop characters with wildly different yet believable ideologies to one’s own.

Not as I’m going to base the villain of the piece on someone I know….

On a different note, my employer, Electricity North West has chosen me as Volunteer of the Month and will be making a £250 donation to Wigan and Leigh hospice. Kudos to them!
